What is Satwik Food?

The word Satwik is a Sanskrit word that can be translated in many ways, including “goodness,” “purity,” “truthfulness,” and “peacefulness.”

When applied to food, this means food that is mild (avoiding the pungent ingredients onion and garlic while creating its own unique and dynamic flavours), not overly salty or oily, and vegetarian. Satwik Food is often prescribed in Ayurveda, traditional Indian medicine, as the healthiest diet one can have.

A Family Business Run With Love

We have all grown up cooking (and eating!) Satwik Food, and so all of our food is made in an authentic and homecooked Indian style. The recipes we use in the Takeaway are the same we use at home, and thus we have a lot of history, passion, love, and care for the quality of the food that we share with all of our lovely customers.
